BRAZEN
This type design project goes beyond aesthetically presenting the word, brazen, to display its meaning in a visual manner. The word means bold and without shame. Using spray paint overtop a hand drawn stencil, the piece brings together the harshness of the word while staying legible.
Colors and Type
The vibrant red strongly catches the viewers’ attention, and leans into the boldness of the word. The black outline and white surrounding help the word to remain legible and pop even more off of the background. In crafting the word, letters were hand drawn, digitally rendered, manipulated, laser-cut, and spray painted to make each of the harsh angles pop and emphasize the shameless nature of the word.
